WILLiFEST welcomes back the Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn Nets The Brooklyn Nets will once again participate in our annual block party by bringing out their 40-foot mobile unit, The EXPERIENCE.

An original member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), the Nets were founded in 1967 as the New Jersey Americans. In 1968, they moved to Long Island, NY and played as the New York Nets. They won two ABA championships in New York before becoming one of four ABA teams to be admitted into the NBA as part of the ABA-NBA merger in 1976. In 1977, the Nets moved back to New Jersey and became the New Jersey Nets.

On April 13, 2012, the NBA Board of Governors unanimously approved the team's relocation to the Barclays Center, a new arena in Brooklyn. The move became official on April 30, 2012, and the team was renamed the Brooklyn Nets.

We look forward to a long relationship with this great addition to Brooklyn culture.
