National Grid presents The Green Screen
A special screening of environmental films

Come join us for a free film block of important films that highlight environmentalism and eco-conservation that can help improve the lives of millions of people across the globe and also help preserve wildlife and our precious natural resources.

VolunteerIn Volunteer, directed by Mariah Wilson, the filmmaker  embarks on a global volunteering adventure that takes her from the coral reefs of Fiji to a wildlife sanctuary in Uganda. Follow her journey and see how - for the price of a plane ticket - you can help affect global change.

In Carbon for Water, directed by Evan Abramson, we explore Kenya's Western Province where most drinking water is contaminated. The wood many Kenyans use to boil this water to make it safe is increasingly valuable. Women and girls, who bear the responsibility for finding water and fuel, often miss school or work and encounter sexual violence. Waterborne illness remains a daily reality for them and their families. Carbon For Water introduces audiences to these Carbon For Waterinspiring people and explores one company's innovative solution for improving the health of millions of Kenyans.

Special ScreeningRadio Days

Classic Film Showcase

Radio Days

directed by Woody Allen  (1987, USA)

Woody Allen's gentle and nostalgic tribute to the glory days of radio and coming-of-age during World War II plays like Fellini's Amarcord filtered through Neil Simon. The nominal star is Seth Green as Joe, a teenage Jewish boy, growing up with a house full of relatives in Brooklyn. Allen cuts between Joe's working class neighborhood of Rockaway Beach, Queens, and the glittery and glamorous world of radio in Manhattan.

Starring: Seth Green, Danny Aiello, Julie Kavner, Mia Farrow, Jeff Daniels, William H. Macy
